STROCO is looking to add a critical member to the team – Shipping/Receiving Specialist Job Description • Receives processes and checks products and verifies the correctness of the shipment against the purchase order. • Prepares forms and maintains records dealing with discrepancies and damaged products. • Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons. • Prepares shipments for return to vendors. • Ensures shipments are properly packaged. • Delivers shipments to recipients. • Maintains internal product inventory of shipping materials & supplies inventory. • Audits product quality by inspecting and returning defective products. • Provides account information by answering questions and requests; generating reports; compiling information. • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. • Maintains receiving files by placing bills of lading, sales order, all test reports and related documents to customer files. • Enters customer and account data by inputting receiving ticket data and updating existing receiving accounts to the computer system. • Must be very accurate because the result of mistakes could be detrimental to the business operations. • Data Entry Skills, Customer Service, Customer Focus, Scheduling, Travel Logistics, Analyzing Information, Dealing with Complexity, Deadline-Oriented, Time Management, Problem Solving, Process Improvement • Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment. • Responsible for maintenance of shipping/receiving areas including cleaning, sweeping, dusting and related activities. • Use of scanning and electronic filing using the following software: UPS Worldship, FedEx, Adobe, Excel and enterprise software. • Other shop-related duties as may be assigned.
