Press release from the City of Hopkins: July 6, 2020 All eligible voters in Hopkins can vote absentee — either by mail or in person— now through August 10. View your sample ballot via the Secretary of State's website. Vote Early By Mail Voters must fill out an application online or on paper to receive a ballot. Paper applications are available in English, Spanish, Hmong, Somali, Vietnamese, Russian, Chinese, Lao, Oromo, Khmer and Amharic. Voters are not required to be pre-registered to vote to apply to vote absentee. To make the process easier, voters may want to register or ensure you are registered before applying for an absentee ballot. Ballots will be mailed to voters within one to two days of receiving the application. For the 2020 state primary, absentee ballots must be postmarked on or before election day (August 11, 2020) and received by August 13, 2020. Vote Early In-Person In-person absentee voting is available at Hopkins City Hall from Tuesday, August 4 to Friday, August 7 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Saturday, August 8, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and Monday, August 10, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Voters who live anywhere in Hennepin County can also vote absentee in-person at the Hennepin County Government Center – 300 S.
