Our progressive municipal animal shelter is looking for a dynamic team lead to assist in managing the daily shelter operations. Tallahassee Animal Services accepts approximately 4,000 companion animals annually and provides field services within the city limits. With a team of 30+ employees, the shelter provides resources to pet owners in the community including rehoming services, reuniting of lost & found animals, vaccinations, microchips and assistance in keeping pets with their owners. The shelter houses approximately 150 animals on a daily basis (mostly dogs & cats) in addition to the animals in foster programs and outreach programs. With a robust foster and volunteer program, a supporting nonprofit organization and an Advisory Board, Tallahassee Animal Services continues to receive extensive community support. The Assistant Animal Care Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the management of 16+ employees in their daily tasks of cleaning, feeding, medicating, vaccinating and evaluating the animals in care. In addition, the team handles all of the customer service operations of answering phones, greeting patrons, reclaiming animals back to their owners, counseling potential adopters, processing adoptions, intaking animals from owners and finders and handling a myriad of other animal related concerns.
