Description
Let's open a dialog on this critical resource. Hear the benefits, when to reach out, and stories of hope from those that have been there. The GR Savvy Senior Learning Series is all about being proactive. Regardless of your age or health, there are a number of things that people of all ages should have in place to thrive. Each month we will present information that will help YOU remain in control even if life throws you a curveball. For additional details on each event please visit GRSavvySeniors.com Frequently Asked Questions Are there minimum age requirements to enter the event and may I bring guests? No. Everyone is invited and we welcome you to bring guests. If you have a parent or friend in this age range and want to learn more about how to keep them safe, this is a good place to start. What are you doing to protect attendees from Covid? With the recent spike in cases, I will be asking all attendees and speakers to wear a mask securely over their mouth and nose. I have a friend that would like to attend but works during the day. Are the events recorded? Yes. The events are recorded but have not yet been posted for public viewing. We are currently working on a YouTube. Stay Tuned. I am not a member of Frederik Meijer Gardens, will I have to pay an entrance fee? No. All Savvy Senior Learning Series registered attendees will receive free access to Meijer Gardens from noon until 5 pm on the day of the event. What are my parking options? Parking is free. Please note that the building is under construction and attendees will have a longer walk to get to the entrance. What should I bring? Just you, a pen, a mask*, and any friends who could benefit from this information. Outside beverages are not allowed, but you will be able to bring in drinks purchased in the cafe if you like. I will provide lapboards and booklets to take notes on. We will have a list of everyone who has signed up so there is no need to print or bring your ticket. *We will continue to moniter the CDC guidelines and those required by Meijer Gardens to make sure our attendees are safe. I hear you give prizes- Is there anything I need to do to be eligible? I do! As a thank you to all attendees, I give away 3 prizes at each event. (typically gift cards) Every attendee will receive one ticket just for coming, and an additional ticket if you bring a friend that is a new attendee. Will there be a Sales Pitch? Never. The Learning Series is designed to be a safe place to gain knowledge with no pressure or sales pitch. You will receive a handout with contact info for all speakers and participating agencies. They will have additional info for you to take if you choose. I work for a Senior Community, or other business that directly serves seniors. Am I welcome to attend? Yes. Seniors attendees will always take priority but as long as we have room, you are welcome to attend. Unless you are a current speaker or sponsor with a table, handing out marketing material will be strictly prohibited. How can I contact the organizer with any questions? Please send questions to: [email protected] or call/text 616-724-7200 With the Grand Rapids Savvy Senior Learning Series, I hope to empower people to make informed decisions about where they can live life to the fullest as their needs and desires change. As the old saying goes, "The only true constant is CHANGE". If there is anything we have learned from the last year, it is that life can change in an instant. Are you prepared if does? This is the heart of the GR Savvy Senior Learning Series. Regardless of your age or health, there are a number of things that people of all ages should have in place to thrive. Each month we will present information that will help YOU remain in control even if life throws you a curveball.
