Looking for Jewelry remodeling/recasting a gold ring

I have a family heirloom that is extremely important to me. It is a simple gold ring band with no settings that needs to be remodeled meaning I want it to be melted down and the same material used to create a new ring. I have seen some websites that offer this service but am skeptical of using them. I would prefer to oversee the process in-person. As such I am looking for a jeweler who can remodel this gold ring, add gold, and make a larger/thicker/stronger ring. As you can see from the pictures it is quite thin and has broken several times in the past.
