Cabin fever setting in? Beat the winter blues and have fun at Plimoth Patuxet Museums during winter vacation week! Enjoy hands-on experiences including crafts, games and stories for kids and their families inspired by the 17th-century communities of Plymouth and Patuxet. Best for families with school-aged children ages 12 and under. Pre-registration is required. All children must be accompanied by an adult. February 22, 9:30am - 12:30pm Animals Everywhere! Meet our most influential residents: the animals! Learn about the wild and domestic animals who lived in Plymouth Colony and Wampanoag Patuxet and explore their important roles in the lives of the humans around them, from making food and clothing to helping with daily chores. Explore native and colonial clothing, work with wool and learn to weave, and make your own 17th-century-inspired cheese to take home while spending time with our unique rare and heritage breeds. Members: $25 per family (up to 4 people). Additional guests are $6 each. Non-Members: $30 per family (up to 4 people). Additional guests are $8 each. February 23, 9:30am - 12:30pm Trades and Crafts Get creative and unleash your inner Artisan! Discover trades and crafts important to both Native people and 17th century English colonists. Explore the art of pottery and master a few tricks and tips for staying healthy in the 17th century with our Master Apothecary. Sample herbal infusions, make a pot inspired by our collections, and create your own herbal sachet to take home. Members: $25 per family (up to 4 people). Additional guests are $6 each. Non-Members: $30 per family (up to 4 people). Additional guests are $8 each. February 24, 9:30am - 12:30pm A-maize-ing Corn Got corn? Feed your curiosity about this important and delicious crop with an entire morning full of “corny” fun! Learn about planting, harvesting, and cooking with corn, sample a traditional 17th-century corn recipe, and plant your own garden to take home to grow! Members: $25 per family (up to 4 people). Additional guests are $6 each. Non-Members: $30 per family (up to 4 people). Additional guests are $8 each. February 25, 9:30am - 12:30pmThe Plimoth Patuxet Winter Games Who will be crowned champion of the 2022 Plimoth Patuxet Winter Games? Athletes of all ages are welcome at the 17th Century Olympiad! Try your hand at a variety of 17th-century sports and games. Learn the art of English sword fighting and test your skill as a member of the militia. Take your chances at the Wampanoag game of Hub-Hub and make your own version to take home and give others a 17th-century challenge!Members: $25 per family (up to 4 people). Additional guests are $6 each. Non-Members: $30 per family (up to 4 people). Additional guests are $8 each. All activities have been planned with our participants' safety in mind and in accordance with the latest CDC and Massachusetts COVID19 guidelines. What We DoPlimoth Patuxet, less than an hour south of Boston and minutes from Cape Cod, is a living museum dedicated to telling the history of Plymouth Colony from the perspective of both the Pilgrims and the Native Wampanoag people. The museum is a Smithsonian Institution Affiliate that includes Mayflower, a full-scale reproduction of the original ship that sailed to Plymouth in 1620 and Plimoth Grist Mill.
