Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Acadiana. Full day of Irish festivities for the WHOLE FAMILY! Get ready Acadiana for the biggest IRISH BLOCK PARTY that downtown Lafayette has ever had! Dust off your green clothing and join us on Saturday March 12th at Hideaway on Lee! We are closing off the street and will have festivities all day! See you there ☘☘☘ celticbayoufestival.com. Celtic Bayou has sorely been missed over the last two years, so we hope you will come out and celebrate with us! Not just to honor St. Patrick's day, but also our awesome festivals return. Some of our festival events will be missing this year since we are doing a soft opening for 2022. But don't worry... our most favorite events are back, allowing you and your mates to have the CRAIC! Admission gates open at 10:30am and events start at 11:00am. Price of Admission is $10.00pp, kids 7 thru 12 are $5.00, 6 and under are FREE. Guinness cook-off: Did you know that our festival is host to the ONLY Guinness cook-off in the WORLD! Yes, that is right. We have one primary rule for our compeition... whatever you choose to cook, must have Guinness beer as your main ingredient. YUMM! Whethere you choose to deglaze, saute, marinate, or make a sauce - the Guinness flavor must shine through. You can register from our website at www.celticbayoufestival.com/guinness-cook-off. Festival attendees will be able to choose 'Taster Choice' that day for a small fee. Music Lineup: Rayo brothers, Whiskey Bay Rovers, Piper EJ Jones and Frances Cunningham, The Gaulway Ramblers, Celjun and Friends, The Here and Now. We will also have ongoing sessions in the Festival Pub and Hideaway Pub. Children's Tent: We kick off the fun at 12noon with a Pot O' Gold Scavenger Hunt. We also will have face painting, St. Patrick's Day crafts donated by the Lafayette Children's Museum, Irish language tutorial and an Irish dance performance. Children's area closes at 3:00pm. Ryan School of Irish dance: Our dancers are back! The Ryan school, made up of Irish dancers from Lafayette and New Orleans will be performing in the main area and also providing a dance tutorial at the Children's tent. Caledonian Bagpipers: Based in Baton Rouge, our bagpipers will be marching through our Festival on Lee Whiskey Tasting: Over 10 different whiskeys from the Celtic Nations will be showcased! Only ONE tasting this year and it is limited to 50 particpants. Tasting requires a seperate ticket - $20.00pp Festival Pub: Our CBF volunteers will be selling our St. Patricks day specialty drinks again - sponsored by Guinness, Bailey's, Two Gingers, and Reve Coffee!! Food: The Hideway will have a special St. Patrick's Day menu for the whole family available. Festival goers can also purchase bowls from our Guinness Tasting contestants.
