Description

Press release from the City of Golden Valley: April 21, 2020 Governor Tim Walz and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan launched a week-long, statewide homemade mask drive to encourage Minnesotans to create homemade masks for donation and highlight the importance of workers on the front lines of the COVID-19 outbreak. Homemade masks can be dropped off Sat, April 25, 10 am–2 pm at any of Golden Valley's three fire stations. After Saturday, the Golden Valley Fire Department will deliver the masks to local congregate living facilities for their employees and residents to wear. Visit the Minnesota COVID-19 Response website for tips and instructions on creating a homemade face mask. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends wearing cloth face coverings to protect others from COVID-19. Cloth face masks can help prevent the wearer from infecting others, especially in situations where they may spread the virus without symptoms. Cloth face masks are not a proven way to prevent COVID-19 from infecting the wearer. For more COVID-19 recommendations, visit the CDC website.
