I am a new beekeeper, looking to do my share for pollinators by growing my apiary in the Hendricks/Boone County area. If you know of a possible location to host some hives for the 2022 Season, I would like to check it out. Hives will need to be accessible for routine inspections and maintenance throughout the Season. What makes a good spot for a hive? Empty lots, fallow/wooded areas, hedgerows/windbreaks, areas bordering open areas/meadows/fields, and available water sources all make for prime areas. Please help do your part in encouraging pollinators necessary for so many of our flowering and food producing plants.
