March - September 20 to 40 hrs/week (1 full-time and 1 part-time position available) The greenhouse production crew is responsible for maintaining our retail flower and vegetable greenhouses, outdoor perennial yard, displays, and cut flower field. Our energy during the beginning of the season is focused primarily in the greenhouses and retail sales. As the season progresses, our duties expand to include planting and harvesting in the cut flower field. Customer service is our number one priority. Candidates must be able to maintain a friendly and enthusiastic attitude. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean work environment is important. Some knowledge of annuals, perennials, vegetables, cut flowers and organic gardening practices is required. Knowledge of pests and diseases is a plus. We are willing to provide additional training to the right candidate. Rotating weekend shifts required. Priority will be given to candidates with interest or experience in flower arranging. Greenhouse duties may include: • Seeding • Transplanting • Watering • Fertilizing • Pruning • Weeding • Scouting for pests and diseases • Providing outstanding customer service • Creating retail displays and maintaining an attractive sales yard Flower field duties may include: • Planting • Deadheading • Harvesting • Weeding • Assembling bouquets for our farmstand and farmers markets • Assist in wedding flower arranging Applicants should be willing to learn, work hard, and enjoy being outside in diverse weather conditions. Must be able to work well both in groups and independently. Farm work is very physical, so you must be able to lift 50 lbs and remain standing or kneeling for 8 hours. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to work on the weekends. Benefits: Pay $15-$17 depending on experience.
