Description

I am writing with disappointment and anguish over the unfortunate situation we are in with our adopted dog. Her name is Scout and she is stunning, playful, happy, friendly and full of so much love. We have had her for about 4 months now and although we love her, our small ten year old Yorkshire just cannot find a place for her in his heart. We have tried so hard to bring the two of them together and to stop her from being so very playful with the old man but it is not a healthy environment for him. She is a large dog and much younger than we were led to believe when we adopted her and her 50 lb body is just too much to pounce on our small boy. We've worked with her on so many things and potty trained her from square one. She's even learned the command "sit" and is doing well with "down". Scout has made so much progress learning to live in doors. I am so proud of her. So proud. But we cannot keep putting this stress on our Atticus. He's fragile and her playing leads to him hiding under furniture and the occasional yelps from her full weight hitting him. We are hoping that she can find a home with larger dogs or be a single child with parents who can continue to devote themselves to her progress and take joy in watching her achievements. She should not be in a home with small animals. She is **great**with people. She's full of energy and about one years old. She's spayed. All shots. One year heart worm/flea and tick shot. She does not bite, she's just a big puppy and pounces a lot. She barely has any accidents and is still learning about her crate. We think she's an English pointer hound mix. We will need references.
