Join us for a day of activities and demonstrations on the farm for the youth! We wan to engage youth around sustainable agriculture, food and science. Join us for a day of planting, composting, food demonstrations, art activities and more! White Harvest Farms staff will facilitate a planting activity, planting mulberry and elderberry trees on the farm. Allen Skinner of Soil Life organics will have a thermophilic composting demonstration for youth and explain what's going on in the soil to make plants grow. The Community Garden at White Harvest Farms will facilitate an *art activity* for youth. The Herban Bee will bring a demonstration hive and overview of beekeeping, Chef Vernetta from the American Heart Association will provide a food demonstration using White Harvest Farms Produce. Still confirming the details, not sure if the community garden is going to do art** More detailed schedule to come. This event is sponsored by the Clara White Mission, American Heart Association, Jacksonville Tyson Foods, and the Duval Soil and Water Conservation District. White Harvest Farms, an initiative of the Clara White Mission, is an 10.5 acre urban regenerative farm and agritourism destination dedicated to research and education in regenerative agricultural systems, value added product development and community enrichment programming.
