Description

The Arizona Trauma Informed Faith Community is a group of individuals and organizations who meet monthly to grow, train, and network. The AZTIFC seeks to build resilient faith-based organizations in order to facilitate sensitive care, training, resource sharing, advocacy, and social movement; Not compromising our own faith traditions, but multiplying collaboration for the greater good of Tucson and the surrounding area. This meeting is a LIVE networking and discussion meeting (some of our monthly meetings are trainings) - we would love for you to join us! Typically we meet monthly on the 3rd Thursday of the month from 11AM-1PM. BUT, due to spring break, this meeting is the 4th Thursday! The meetings will be hosted at Hope City Church and free lunch for those attending live is included and provided by Pantano Christian Church. (A monthly invitation will be posted). This month: Understanding Trauma 101 - ACEs Consortium Material The seminal ACEs study done in the 1990s in Southern California, continues to spearhead research that has changed our understanding of how early childhood experiences affect our physical and mental health, our relationships, our choices and so much more. Adverse Childhood Experiences have implications for adult physical and mental health, relationships, our own personal development and so much more. We will not only learn what that study found, but we'll also learn how the findings have been replicated across the country and across the globe. Understanding ACEs and the effects of other adverse experiences is vital to our own journey of personal growth. Additionally, this understanding gives a framework and trauma-informed lens for the way we work, serve, and interact with those around us. Understanding ACEs helps change the way we understand and interact with those we work with and serve. Know someone who may find this information valuable - feel free to invite them!
