To bring the conversation of human rights to a younger audience, the Golden Valley Human Rights Commission has expanded its annual Martin Luther King Human Rights Contest to accept submissions from students in grades K–12. All students who live in Golden Valley, attend a school in Golden Valley, or attend a Robbinsdale Area District or Hopkins District school.
This year's theme is "Allyship," and students are asked to creatively respond to the following question: What does it mean to be a good ally in the world today?
Students may submit any kind of entry that exemplifies the theme's question. Submissions will be judged on inspiration, clarity, creativity, and content applicable to the theme, and are due by Dec 1, 2020, 4 pm.
