Meriden Man Charged With Fleeing Police

MERIDEN, CT — A Meriden man was charged after fleeing from police last week, according to a police department Facebook post. Police said they were conducting a drug investigation Wednesday night after receiving several complaints about a home on the west side of the city. Police said Ervin Rosado, 24, came to the home in a car and engaged in "activity consistent with a drug transaction." Ervin then got in his car and left. Police attempted to initiate a traffic stop on Rosado for faulty rear lights and brake lights. However, Rosado refused to stop for police and accelerated away. His car then struck a curb, deflating the car's tires. Rosado traveled through Meriden and Wallingford on the car's rims, allowing police to follow the gouge marks in the road. With the help of Wallingford police, a perimeter was set up and Rosado was quickly caught. A second person in the vehicle fled and was not located. Police believe Rosado discarded drugs on him while fleeing. He was charged with interfering with police, first-degree reckless endangerment, reckless driving, disobeying the signal of an officer, and failure to have lamps lit and devices illuminated.
