CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — The Heights High Tigers have a new head volleyball coach. Jasmine Harper will become the leader of the girls varsity program, the district announced. Harper graduated from Heights High in 2012. She has coached both volleyball and basketball at the middle and high school level in the Heights Schools over the past four years. "I'm excited to continue to give back but also to start working with these young ladies as the head varsity volleyball coach. My familiarity with them will allow us to hit the ground running, and we intend to do that!" Harper said in a statement on the district's website. After graduating from Heights High, Harper attended the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown on a full athletic scholarship. She currently works as a certified emergency medical technician. She is also studying to become a doctor. Harper said her time as a middle school volleyball coach has prepared her for her new role at Heights High. "Having worked with a number of current players, Jasmine has established credibility and earned the respect of the players she will inherit," said CH-UH Athletic Director Joe D'Amato. "I look forward to watching the program grow under Jasmine."
