Description
YMCA of Bucks County and Hunterdon County YMCA are currently offering the community a new "Cause Membership" to individuals who seek to support a meaningful cause, connect with others with similar interests, and prioritize their wellness. For $10 per month, each Cause Member has a choice of eight cause and connection groups to engage in, as well as access to the Y Wellness 24/7 virtual platform that offers hundreds of weekly live fitness classes and thousands on-demand. 100% of the membership fee goes to support individuals and families in the community who need the Y for essential programs and services. "Our YMCAs are so excited to be offering this opportunity for members and the community to be directly connected to our philanthropic mission and service," commented Debbie Sontupe, chief development officer of YMCA of Bucks County. "With our eight cause membership choices and connection groups, members get to be involved in the causes they care about while connecting with others and addressing their own well-being." The new membership cause groups are Veterans, Cancer Wellness, Empowering At-Risk Youth, Eliminating Financial Barriers to Y Programs, Special Needs/Abilities, Mental Health, Human Services, and Water Safety. Along with their cause, members are invited to participate in a Connection Group: Mindfulness, Nutrition, Senior Connection, Parent Support, Overall Fitness/Wellness, Book Club, Running a 5K, and the Passion into Action Group, which focuses on mentoring, leadership and volunteerism. "As our Ys and communities continue to recover from the last two years, we have learned that people want to be connected, and they want to help," continued Sontupe. "The YMCA has always been that hub. That place to care for ourselves and others. Cause Membership offers a new way to continue to open those doors to our community." Cause Membership is available right now, and more information can be found at ymcabhc.org/cause. Hunterdon County YMCA in New Jersey and YMCA of Bucks County in Pennsylvania have entered into a management agreement for YMCA of Bucks County to provide executive leadership to Hunterdon County YMCA. Under the agreement, Zane Moore, president/CEO of YMCA of Bucks County also leads the Hunterdon County YMCA. The management agreement provides a unique opportunity for the two Ys, who already have a shared mission, to positively impact lives throughout Bucks and Hunterdon counties. Both YMCA of Bucks County and Hunterdon County YMCA are charitable, nonprofit organizations committed to strengthening communities through membership and programs that foster youth development, healthy living and social responsibility for all. Together they serve over 70,000 members and participants annually through child care and camp, fitness programs, swim lessons, and team sports for people of all ages, incomes, and abilities. Each year they provide nearly $5.5 million of community impact in the form of financial assistance to individuals and families in need and free programming for veterans, cancer survivors, older adults and more. Additionally, they support members of the community through food programs, educational resources, blood drives, and community service projects. To learn more visit ymcabucks.org and hcymca.org.
