Heights Teacher Wins Educator Of The Year Award

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, OH — Amanda Blazetic has been named the University Heights Educator of the Year. Blazetic is a teacher at Gearity Professional Development School. She works as an intervention specialist and, the district says, she is a tireless advocate for her students with multiple disabilities. This year, Blazetic raised more than $1,000 to purchase necessities for students and their families. She has also volunteered at every school-sponsored food distribution event. "Tiger Nation is lucky to have her, and she is a shining star and wonderful representation of our district," said Superintendent Elizabeth Kirby. Blazetic was honored during the University Heights Civic Awards. During the ceremony, the municipality recognizes local residents, employees, leaders and volunteers who have made a difference in the community.
