Cottage Gardens, Inc. Merchandising Division is looking for multiple individuals to merchandise our line of trees, shrubs and roses in garden center departments located at Home Depot stores, in Des Moines, West Des Moines, Ankeny and Cedar Rapids Iowa. This is a seasonal, part time position which begins now and runs through December. Hours range from 10 to 35 hours per week. Flexible hours and days are available, Mondays, one weekend day, and some holidays are required. We offer a competitive starting wage. This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to earn extra income and who love plants and working outdoors. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; setting up and stocking tree, shrub and rose displays, and assisting staff with plant maintenance. Additional seasonal lines are merchandised, including pumpkins, flower bulbs, and Christmas trees. Job Requirements: You will be required to work under all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain and snow. Must be able to work independently in a fast paced customer service environment. Responsibilities will include lifting heavy plants, you must be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly. Must have a valid Driver’s License and reliable means of transportation. Must have a smartphone. Plant knowledge and plant merchandising experience is beneficial but not required. Must be able to pass a background check.​
