SUMMARY
This is skilled carpentry position. Work involves the construction, alteration, maintenance, and repair of a variety of commercial structures and fixtures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Comprehensive knowledge and use of standard carpentry tools and equipment.
Lays out work as specified in drawing, blueprints, and diagrams to determine dimensions of structure of form to be constructed, repaired, or altered.
Works on installation of doors frames, doors, door hardware, cabinetry and other interior specialties.
Inspects buildings or other structures and items in need of repair; considers need for repair and estimated time and materials; requisitions materials and supplies.
Establishes standards for safety and performance for co-workers; quantity and quality of work against those standards.
Maintains and reports material, labor, and time costs.
Performs related work as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from high school or vocational school and/or 5-7 years of experience working as a finish carpenter, 2-5 years for rough carpenter.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Thorough knowledge of the standard methods, equipment, materials, tools, and practices of the finish carpentry trade or rough carpentry trade. Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the construction trades. Skill in the use of standard tools and equipment of the trades.
Technology literate and the ability to interpret and work from drawings, plans, and blue prints.
Ability to make and project material and labor estimates.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with clients, subcontractors, and co- workers.
Must be able to pass a background check and a pre-employment drug test.
Possible travel for project.
