Press release from the University of California, Davis: December 15, 2020 We've got breaking news from UC Davis Health, and a reminder that the COVID-19 testing kiosk at the ARC will be closed for most of winter break. UC Davis Health relayed its big news via Facebook, at about 2 p.m.: "It has been a monumental day as we received our first shipment of the #COVID19 vaccine and administered it to the first group of frontline workers. We received 4,875 doses of the vaccine. "Nurse Heather Donaldson administered the first COVID-19 vaccination at UC Davis Health to UC Davis Department of Emergency Medicine nurse Eva Teniola. 'I have been waiting for this day,' she said." See the post and more photos. In a Twitter post just before 8 a.m., @UCDavisHealth reported: "Our initial shipment of #COVID19 vaccine is here! Packed in dry ice and delivered by @FedEx. It's now on its way to our ultra-cold storage freezer, soon to be given to frontline staff from @UCDavisEM."
