NCSU Lab seeking Seeking participants on a research project

Events

890 Oval Drive, Raleigh NC

21 February, 2022

Description

We are a group of researchers at NCSU. We are designing a smart voice assistant that can detect the head orientation of the speaker as it interacts with its user. We need your help in providing us with your feedback about the prototype voice assistant. As a participant, you will complete a pre- and post-survey on your own device, plus an in-lab activity session where you will be asked to utter specific phrases in front of a smart voice assistant. If you are interested in helping out, you will be asked to fill out two COVID-19 screening surveys (on Qualtrics) – one as a part of a pre-study survey and the other as a part of an on-site survey conducted on the day of interaction. If you have COVID-19 symptoms or were treated for COVID-19 in the last 10 days you will not be eligible to participate in this study. If you qualify to participate, we will ask for an available date and time to visit our lab situated inside the Computer Science Department at NC State (890 Oval Drive, Engineering Building 2, Room No. 1235, Raleigh, NC 27695). To keep everyone safe, only two people (one research team member and the other the participant) will be in the lab. The lab will also be sanitized between participants. You will be asked to wear a face mask (please bring your own mask if possible) during all time of the data collection process. The whole process will last around 15-30 minutes, and you will need to complete a post-survey on your own computing device (link will be provided at the end of the data collection phase). You will be paid a $10 Amazon e-gift card for your time. Venue: NC State Computer Science Department at 890 Oval Drive, Engineering Building 2, Room No. 1235, Raleigh, NC 27695 Time: From Feb 19 Sunday through Feb 25 Friday If you are interested please fill out the following link:
