Looking for a drummer for a 17 piece jazz big band. We rehearse in San Jose on Wed. eves from 7:30 PM -9:30 P.M. All styles of jazz are played, including Latin, dance, standards, contemporary and vocals We have a large book of over 400 charts. The band has been together since 2004 and has played every year at the San Jose Jazz Festival. We require that all members are vaccinated and boosted. The rehearsal atmosphere is relaxed but we take our music seriously. The studio we rehearse in provides chairs and music stands and there is a drum kit permanently set up as well! Our music library is stored on site and also online so you do not have to cart a heavy book of charts back and forth. The band has several gigs per year, mostly outside, and has an elaborate sound system. Applicants must be able to read drum charts and have a reasonable amount of experience playing jazz rhythms.
