CLEVELAND — Part of I-77 north will be closed through the weekend, the Ohio Department of Transportation announced. The closures will be in place while crews do work on a bridge. Only limited local access to areas will be maintained.
According to ODOT, the closure of part of I-77 will begin at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 24. The highway will re-open at 5 a.m. on Monday, April 27.
However, starting Monday, I-77 north over I-490 will be reduced to one lane. The reduction will allow bridge work to continue. The squeezing of lanes will continue through at least early May, according to ODOT.
Here's how the closure will impact Northeast Ohio highways this weekend:
I-77 north — between I-480 and Broadway Avenue — will be closed. Drivers can detour along I-480 west to SR 176 to I-490 east to Broadway Avenue north to I-77. I-480 east and west ramps to I-77 north will be closed. Drivers can detour along I-480 to SR 176 north to I-490 east to Broadway Avenue north to I-77. I-490 east to I-77 north will be closed. Drivers can detour on Broadway Avenue north to E. 30th to I-77 north. I-77 north to I-490 west will be closed. Drivers can detour along Pershing Avenue north to I-490 west.
