DANVILLE, CA — An Oakland man was hospitalized Tuesday after he fled Danville police and crashed his car, officials said. Driver Tramayne Baker, 42, was found unconscious and taken to John Muir Medical Center, Danville police said in a statement. A pedestrian near the scene of the crash suffered minor injuries and was treated on site. Police were on the lookout Tuesday morning for Baker and his purple 1992 Lexus LS400 after he fled a California Highway Patrol officer who tried to pull him over for speeding on I-680, police said. He exited at Sycamore Valley Road and was last seen heading south on Camino Ramon. CHP eventually ended the pursuit. A Danville police officer spotted Baker's car around 10:45 a.m. and tried to pull him over as he drove north on San Ramon Valley Boulevard, Danville police said. Baker sped off and police stopped following him after he drove into oncoming traffic at Town and Country Drive. Baker lost control, then crashed into a car and a tree, police said. The injured pedestrian was near the tree at the time of the arrest. Baker has been arrested on suspicion of evading police.
