No Fire In Contra Costa County Despite Smoke

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA β€” Smoke from the Petersen Fire β€” burning east of Suisun City in Solano County β€” is blowing into Contra Costa County, fire officials said. There were no wildfires reported in Contra Costa as of Monday evening. People with respiratory sensitivities should avoid spending time outdoors, Contra Costa Fire officials said. The blaze was reported just after 2 p.m. near eastbound state Highway 12 and Scally Lane, just east of Walters Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.Wildfire cameras showed a huge plume of smoke rising from the vegetation fire. The fire is outside the Travis Air Force Base South Gate, and firefighters from the base were sent to help the Suisun City Fire Department, base officials said. Active wildfire burning in Solano Co near Fairfield causing smoke to be blown into central CCC. This is from a distant fire; no active fire incidents in CCC at this hour.
