Description
DANVILLE, CA — A five-agency law enforcement presence responded to the 100 block of Ramona Road Friday morning after a mistaken 911 caller told police a domestic violence incident had taken place in the area.
Danville police were aiding the Martinez Police Department in responding to the call, according to a statement from the Danville Police Department. Danville police secured the scene with the help of the Contra Costa Sheriff's Office, an East Bay Regional Park District Police helicopter, and the Orinda and Lafayette police departments.
The response followed an early morning domestic violence call on Fig Tree Lane in Martinez, according to Martinez police. Later that morning, police received a call from someone who mistakenly believed a related domestic violence incident was taking place in Danville, according to Danville police.
Police believed a victim was being barricaded in the house, but fortunately, that did not turn out to be the case.
The suspect had since returned to Martinez.
He is facing misdemeanor charges, Martinez police said. No injuries were reported in the domestic violence incident.
