4 Indictments In Cul-de-Sac Shooting

NEW CITY, NY — Four men from Brooklyn accused of shooting at a rental house in New City were indicted Friday, Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II announced. Prosecutors said the four opened fire on 3 Turnberry Court the afternoon of Jan. 29. Police responding to several 911 calls pursued a black Mercedes which crashed, and then chased five occupants on foot. The house on Turnberry Court had been rented by the owner, who was not there. The luxurious 6-bedroom, 4 bathroom ranch, bought in December for $950,000, includes a vaulted living room and a fitness room with a sauna. At the time of the shooting it was occupied by a number of young adults. Police did not name the owner or the renter. Neither they nor any of the residents of the cul de sac were harmed, police said. Four handguns were recovered from the five people who tried to escape in a black Mercedes after the shooting. SEE: Police ID Men Involved In Weekend Shooting In New City. One was a juvenile. All four men — Armani Millier, Garron White, Ivor Minott, and Daquan Young — were charged with four counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (PL Sec. 265.03(3)) and one count of Reckless Endangerment in the First degree (PL Sec. 125.25). I caution any individuals planning to come to Rockland County that the use of an illegal firearm will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law," Walsh said in the announcement. "The careless actions of the defendants could have resulted in the injury or death of the occupants of theresidence. I commend the Clarkstown Police Department and the Rockland County Sheriff's Office for their quick apprehension of the suspects and assistance in the investigation." The case is being prosecuted by Executive Assistant District Attorney Kathleen Devlin. It should be noted that a criminal complaint is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
