CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — Meals on Wheels Diablo Region is calling for "elves" to step up and donate items to make seniors feel cared for in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The organization receives thousands of requests for help each year.
Because of the pandemic, the nonprofit can only collect items in their original package. It must also limit the number of people dropping off items.
People, organizations, companies or groups interested in helping out can either buy items through the Meals on Wheels Diablo Region Amazon account and have them shipped to the office, or help collect items for the following efforts:
Stuffed stockings (200 needed), with items such as:
