WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — It may be a short work week, but roadwork projects will likely mean more time spent behind the wheel for Hudson Valley commuters. The NYS Department of Transportation announced there will be a right lane closure scheduled along the Hutchinson River Parkway southbound between Exit 16 (Purchase St.) in Harrison to Exit 5A (Sanford Boulevard) in Pelham Manor, from Monday, Feb. 21 to Friday, Feb. 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Construction work will take place daily, weather-permitting. In addition, the DOT said there are several lane closures planned on the Cross County Parkway eastbound and westbound between Exit 3 (Yonkers Ave.) and Exit 8 (Columbus Ave.) in Yonkers, from Monday to Thursday, between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. for sign work. Several double and single lane closures along the Saw Mill River Parkway northbound can be expected as well, between the New York City line and Exit 4 (Cross County Parkway), on Monday, between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. for sign work. The NYSDOT is reminding drivers to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Remember, fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of your driver's license.
