We will find out more, but the San Francisco Public Library wrote on Friday a "regret to inform you" notice that there will be another delay in the Mission Branch – this time because issues with PG&E that have impacted dozens of the city's capital projects.
The library writes that "PG&E is demanding that the City install additional equipment capable of providing a higher level of power (12kV), than the Library project requires (208v 3). The proposed upgrade would require a minimum of 500 square-feet of property to house the large equipment and would add an additional $500,000 to the budget."
This means that the start of the renovation, estimated to take 22 months to complete, has not yet started and will not start until this is resolved. Moreover, the library reports, they have made no progress on a temporary branch for the Mission.
