DETROIT — Two adults and a child were found shot to death Saturday in a Detroit on the 15000 block of Evergreen Road near Fenkell Street, Detroit Police Chief James White said. The bodies were found by a family member at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, who had not seen or heard from the victims in over a week, White said. The family member quickly alerted officers, who found a man and woman both believed to be in their late 20s or early 30s fatally shot with multiple gunshot wounds. The child, believed to be between 4 and 7-years-old was also fatally struck by multiple gunshot wounds, White said. Officers said they believe the woman was the mother of the child. They also concluded that all three victims lived in the house together after speaking with several neighbors in the neighborhood. Although the investigation is still early, White said there's no indication the shooting was related to a murder-suicide. But he did note there was forced entry into the home through the back door, speculating the shooting could have possibly been connected to a burglary attempt. Detectives determined the scene was not fresh and, investigators will have to wait until autopsies are done to determine a time and date of the shooting deaths, White said. "Every resource we have is going to be dedicated to pursuing and apprehending the person that murdered this baby and the people in this home," White said. Anybody with information is asked to contact the Detroit Police Department or Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SpeakUp.
