**** Know a performer aged 16 to 21, please help us spread the word! **** Rising Stars is a new Work-Based Learning Concept presented by T3 Triple Threat, with the support of The City of San Diego Parks & Recreation Department. Auditions, rehearsals and performances will take place at the North Park Recreation Center, located at 4044 Idaho Street. Soon San Diego’s most talented young performers will be able to connect their performing arts training with real-world work experiences in an earn while you learn setting. The over arching goal of our program is to help strong pre-professionals ages 16 to 21 transition into professional work environments by providing performing opportunities that offer some compensation. $75 stipend provided. “Rising Stars” is a concept workshop centered around the creation of a 90’s POP / ROCK music review. Eight weeks of rehearsals will culminate with a high energy production show teaser, paying homage to some of the hottest artist of the 90’s. With tributes to legends such as, Marvin Gaye, Paula Abdul, Sting, Cher, Santana and Elvis Presley reimagined. In person & video submission information: SINGERS: SAT March 12, 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM You will need to prepare two songs from our 90s themed lineup. Once you have submitted your registration, you will receive a link to reserve your audition time and access to audition materials, including sheet music and practice backing tracks. Immediately following your audition, the production team may ask you to come back SUN, March 13 to dance or SAT 19 to sing from selected callback materials. If you have a conflict with the dance or vocal callback dates, please inform us at the time of your audition. DANCERS: SUN March 13, 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM If auditioning in person, your dance audition date and time will be SUN March 13, 2022: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. This will be a group audition. Wear proper dance attire and shoes/sneakers. Additionally, females should bring heels. If you have selected to submit a video audition, you will receive instructions after you have submitted your application. Our choreographer will teach a challenging combination of contrasting styles. We are looking for versatile dancers with backgrounds in styles including Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Commercial. If you are unable to make the in-person audition dates, you’re invited to submit a video audition. All video submissions must be received by 12:30 PM on Sat, March 13, 2022. Please know we will still want to see you in-person at callbacks. CALLBACKS: SAT March 19 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM Vocalist may be asked to sing from selected callback material at this time. Vocalist will have access to all material. We strongly suggest preparing accordingly. CALLBACKS: SUN March 20 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM Dancers may be asked to come back for partnering work.
