www.copicutfarms.com ABOUT OUR FARM: Copicut Farms is a 70-acre family-owned livestock farm located in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. We raise meat chickens, layer chickens, turkeys, sheep and pigs. All of our animals are raised outdoors, on-pasture. All of our poultry are raised and processed on our farm. POSITION SUMMARY: We are currently seeking full-time (30-40 hrs/week) farm staff and crew leaders to help with our 2022 farming season. Work will take place from late March through November with the potential for year-round work for the right candidates. Work hours will generally be early mornings through late afternoons 6-10 hours/day. Responsibilities will vary from day to day, but may include: -Feeding, watering, and maintenance of livestock -Moving animal fencing -Slaughtering and packaging of poultry -General carpentry -Driving meat orders to home delivery customers COMPENSATION: $15-$19/hr. Free meat and eggs. If you are interested in farming you will particularly appreciate a hands-on opportunity to learn various aspects of livestock production, processing, and sales. We are always excited to teach. QUALIFICATIONS: -Must be able to work from late March through November -Some background in livestock farming and agriculture is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person(s). -A positive attitude is a must -Must be willing to work in all weather conditions and days of the week -Must be comfortable working in a slaughterhouse. -Crew leaders will be expected to safely operate general farm equipment - small tractors, skid steer, pickup trucks, etc. TO APPLY: Please respond with contact information, a summary of any pertinent work experience, and several references.
