Press release from the City of Eden Prairie: October 30, 2020 Voting Update Due to a federal appeals court ruling yesterday which changes when mailed ballots can be accepted, voters are now urged to drop off absentee ballots in person instead. If you haven't yet returned your absentee ballot, please do not put it in the mail. Drop off your ballot or vote in person. Ballots can be dropped off at City Center today through 3 p.m. on Election Day. Absentee ballots can be tracked at MNVotes.org. In-person early voting by direct ballot is taking place at City Center today through Monday, Nov. 2. On Election Day Eden Prairie polling locations are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you are not yet registered, you can register on Election Day at your polling location. Tree Trimming For the next several weeks Streets Maintenance crews will be pruning trees and shrubs located within rights of way in the northwest and southeast quadrants of the City. Tree-Trimming Map [PDF] Fall Recycling Events Recap To help achieve community wide Climate Action Plan goals for waste reduction, the City and Certified Recycling hosted an electronics recycling drop-off event Saturday, Oct. 17. During this one-day event 145 vehicles dropped off 5.32 tons of electronics. The City and Certified Recycling also offered a curbside collection event Oct. 5–16 for residents to schedule pickups of appliances, electronics, tires, furniture, metals, power equipment and other bulky materials. This event recycled 612 unique items from 147 households. Many residents also participated in the City's Oct. 8 paper-shredding event, with 250 vehicles recycling 4.65 tons of paper. Due to their popularity, it is anticipated similar drop-off and curbside recycling events will take place in 2021 and beyond.
