*** For Immediate Media Release*** Kinston, NC- February 25, 2021, The 1901 Building Group presents the second episode of the 2021-22 season of The Front Porch. The Winter 2022 Front Porch is a tribute to Mr. Clemmie “Fig” Jones. Fig, for his fondness of fig trees, is a Lenoir County native with a unique taste in music. A charter member of the African American Music Trails of Eastern North Carolina, Jones is also a comedian who plays Blues, Funk, and Rock and Roll genres. Known for his smooth afro, dapper suits, and spotless shoes, Fig Jones is a top request for comedy, fashion, and drums when musicians and tourists Visit Kinston. Join us for this Black History Month Front Porch roast and tribute to the world-famous Fig Jones, the only funk drummer who is “Scared of the Water”! Ms. Choci Gray and the 1901 Building Group will host the event 6-8 pm at the 1901 Building, located in the downtown historic district at 129 N. Queen St., Kinston, NC. The North Carolina Humanities Council is the title sponsor of the 2021-22 Front Porch
