Press release from the City of Tucker: Agenda Packet Tucker's Mayor and City Council held a work session and brief meeting on Monday night at the City Hall Annex. The monthly work session gives Council the opportunity to hold in-depth discussions on a number of issues. In this case they held a lengthy discussion on the subject of taking over maintenance of streets and sidewalks from DeKalb County. Ultimately, Council decided to leave the issue alone and work with DeKalb County on a new intergovernmental agreement (IGA) that would provide Tucker with an increased level of service. Earlier in the work session, Council held discussion on: enhancements to the Lavista Road, Lawrenceville Highway, Northlake Parkway and Henderson Road bridges that run over I-285. Discussion centered around whether to include upgraded fencing, lighting and other amenities on the bridges. findings of the City's Charter Commission. Mayor Auman provided an update on the effort to amend term limits for city offices. uniform signage within Tucker's parks. a grid study presented by the Tucker-Northlake Community Improvement District (CID). The Atlanta Regional Commission-funded study looked at how best to reimagine downtown Tucker's alleyways. a freight cluster plan presented by the Tucker Summit CID. This 13-month study looked at the issue of freight mobility, specifically along the Mountain Industrial corridor. the City's annual audit. Auditors lauded Tucker's Finance Department for a clean audit with no findings. At the beginning of the work session, Mayor Auman presented his third annual Mayor's Business Award. The award was presented to FODAC, a Tucker nonprofit that provides low cost or free durable medical equipment like wheelchairs and hospital beds. Following the work session, Council held a brief meeting where they unanimously approved a resolution to authorize the Parks and Recreation Director to pursue a $500,000 Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant for improvements at Fitzgerald Park. They also received a report from the City's Finance Director on the City's September finances.
