Our Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization, offers scholarships to young ladies entering college as the Chapter works in the Greater Cincinnati community to support the academic, social, and leadership development of local youth. In order to continue these efforts, we will host our15th annual Scholarship Golf Fundraiser & Outing to raise funds for scholarships and chapter educational programs. The Fundraiser will be held Saturday May 21, 2022, with a 1:30 Shotgun at Walden Ponds Golf Course in Hamilton, Ohio. Your support in this worthy cause will certainly help us make a difference in the lives of our youth! This year’s golf tournament is an exclusive engagement for a minimum of 72 participants. Proceeds from this fundraiser will allow the Delta Gateway Foundation to award scholarships to deserving high school scholars from the Greater Cincinnati Area and benefit Cincinnati Alumnae Chapter programs focused on our youth. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. The organization was founded on January 13, 1913 by 22 collegiate women at Howard University in Washington, D.C. A sisterhood of more than 250,000 predominately Black college educated women, the Sorority currently has over 950 chapters located in the United States, England, Japan, Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas and the Republic of Korea. The major programs of the sorority are based upon the organization’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust which consists of Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness & Involvement, Physical & Mental Health and Political Awareness & Involvement. With over 200 members, the Cincinnati Alumnae Chapter continues the legacy of the Sorority’s illustrious founders and its charter members by providing numerous public service initiatives within the Greater Cincinnati area. Therefore, the chapter’s reach extends far beyond its membership. In recent years, our local programs have experienced considerable growth and we want to ensure that our efforts continue to be made available in our community at no cost to those who benefit.  In addition, the number of scholarship applicants and students in need has more than doubled. In order to maintain the significant impact that our organizations have had in the Cincinnati community, our chapter’s fundraisers supplement the funding needed for these essential programs. Proceeds generated from our Soul Food Film Festival will fund the following youth development initiatives: D        Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy: reinforces curriculum in math, science and technology among girls ages 11-14 and provides exposure to STEM careers D        Delta G.E.M.S.
