A safe space for siblings of children with developmental disabilities to talk about their feelings. As part of the Academy of Natural Sciences' March 6th Access to Science event, FamilyMatters will facilitate a free support group for typical siblings of children with special needs! This group offers opportunities for siblings to gain support and meet new friends in a safe and fun environment. Through group activities, children will be able to understand more about disabilities and learn how they can have a more meaningful relationship with their sibling. This workshop is open to children ages 8 to 12 years old. Confirmation messages will include a link for registrants to complete a release form for the attending child. In order to encourage attendees to share their honest opinions, the workshop will take place during the first hour of the Access to Science event, while their families begin touring the museum. The second hour of the event will provide an opportunity for siblings to use what they've learned. Note: At this time, all visitors ages 2 and up are required to wear a mask.
