Join us for in person weekly Lectio Divina sessions incorporating scriptural reading, meditation, and prayer. Facilitated by Meg
Lectio Divina is a traditional Benedictine practice of scriptural reading, meditation, and prayer intended to promote communion with God and to increase the knowledge of God's Word. It does not treat Scripture as texts to be studied, as the Living Word. In our session of Lectio Divina, the chosen passage from the following Sunday Gospel reading is read, then its meaning is reflected upon. This is followed by prayer and contemplation. Facilitated by About Meg Gottemoeller
About the facilitator: Meg Gottemoeller grew up in Ohio and spent her working years in New York and Asia. Now retired, she moved to Houston four years ago to be near her daughter, son-in-law and three grandchildren. She is a graduate of the Jesuit USAEast Province Magis program, a two-year structured experience for lay women and men who desire to develop a greater familiarity with Ignatian Spirituality. Meg has led parish faith-sharing programs based on the Spiritual Exercises and is a regular in her parish Lectio Divina group. She is in her second year of the Emmaus SDI preparation and finds great joy in deepening relationships with God and others through sharing Scripture in prayer.
