Description

Gardening through a Child’s Eyes We invite you to join us for this free speaker event. In this fun and informative talk, Kate Verhoef will guide your through the world of gardening through a child's eyes. Gardening with children is a rewarding experience, but it is not without its challenges. Kate will use her experience as both a parent and a school garden educator to share tips, inspiration, and resources for joyfully gardening with children aged 3 to 10 years. She will also share engaging garden activities for each season, to keep little ones busy and happily gardening all year long. Kate Verhoef is a parent and urban farmer based in El Cerrito. She has worked and volunteered as an outdoor classroom instructor and consultant, a 4-H leader, and a library STEAM workshop provider. She is an advocate for sustainability and a firm believer in the importance of fostering a love for the natural world in the next generation. Our club meetings start with a social time with refreshments, followed by a short business meeting to discuss our many activities around town. The presentation is the highlight, and we cover a wide range of gardening topics to educate and inspire people. Currently, we ask that all attendees be vaccinated and boosted, and to wear a mask. For more information and guest registration, please go to Moraga Garden Club web site at www.moragagardenclub.com Guests will be entered into a draw for a Starter Kit for Gardening with Children.
