Description

The HH Jazz Guitar Institute is a camp led by Dallas McCorkindale to prepare students ages 14-20 for the challenges of jazz guitar. Hilton Head Jazz Guitar Institute (recommended ages 14-20):  $229 includes a 3-hour daily jazz guitar clinic (June 20-24, 1pm-4pm) with professional jazz guitarist and jazz camp alumni Dallas McCorkindale, a mid-week music trip, and finale performance on June 24.  This new program is offered as a way for guitarists to have a grasp on how to play jazz in a non-competitive setting and improve upon and reading, ensemble playing and improvisation.  At least two to three years of playing experience is a pre-requisite for the jazz guitar institute.  This program is a highly recommended for any guitarists who also plan on attending the Hilton Head Jazz Camp and a discount is provided for those that enroll in both options.  During the week, there is also a full day music trip to Savannah on  Wednesday, June 22 with lunch provided.  A final joint performance with the Hilton Head Jazz Clinic will be held in the HHCA Performing Arts Center on Friday, June 24th at 5pm.  Here is the detailed schedule of the HH Jazz Guitar Institute: June 20-21: 1-4pm (Jazz Guitarist Institute Rehearsal) June 22: 9am-TBA (Morning Music Trip to Savannah) June 23-24: 1-4pm (Jazz Guitar Institute Rehearsal), 5pm Finale Performance (June 24 only) No audition is required.  Students will be billed for tuition on a rolling basis beginning in April.  Please note that the $25 registration fee is separate from tuition.  Invite your friends to register @ hhjazzguitar.eventbrite.com! :) The Junior Jazz Foundation (JJF) is the philanthropic outreach effort of The Jazz Corner on beautiful Hilton Head Island, SC.We believe that the original American art form of jazz music is important.
