Leopard Gecko & Mealworm Colony

Description

I have this beautiful fella looking for a home. He will need a few accommodations, as things I’ve simply noticed while owning him, that I wouldn’t be comfortable giving him up to anyone who couldn’t provide these things. He WILL come with ENTIRE MEALWORM COLONY (the 4 colored bins in the last photo) it has 2 drawers of over 100 beetles in each, and upward of 50K of mealworms between the two bins of mealworms I have. I have put probably close to a hundred into the mealworms colony let alone & they will come with extra egg crates (probably over a dozen factory box type large ones) & if reminded, the mealworms can come with the remaining 10 lbs of wheat bran I have left for them. I also have a huge bag of perlite I bought when I had found a fertile egg after separating him & another rescue when I received them, if someone who does breed might be interested in that. Mr. Leo (never could come up with a name) cannot be on a heating pad. He was my first reptile that was mine, ever. So I unknowingly put him on the heat pad he came with. He never came out, never left THAT hide, AND he was not ever able to fully digest his mealworms. I would see 2-3 still fully visible in his stool. We switched to above heating (Phillips par38) and he hasn’t had a problem since. Secondly, he NEEDS a basking platform. He will not use it during the day. But if he doesn’t have one on his hot side, he will be visibly uncomfortable/ stressed out after lights are out, as that is usually where he goes to get some extra belly heat for a few hours until the house is calmed down. Third, maybe last? Climbing ledges. Right now he is in a tank much too small for him. He most definitely DOES need a 40 gallon (3ft long) or bigger, because he LOVES that extra space to run and explore or climb. His tank currently has one of those woven bearded dragon side ledges things? Idk what they’re called, but it’s not the fabric ones. It’s the like wicker woven? Which he climbs up on a daily. He has a coconut ball hide in the sky with a ladder that he’s constantly all over, so climbing material / safe bottom is a must. He has NEVER bit me. He will sit gladly with you after he’s done exploring. He doesn’t mind cats (if the cats don’t mind him) and has climbed all over my sleeping child lol Sadly I am starting to believe I am allergic to the mealworm colony, and cannot afford to feed him anything else when local pet stores are constantly running out of crickets. He will not touch dubia roaches, but does enjoy hornworms. Would be interested in trading for large enclosure, multiple large snake hides, or throw out offers. Nothing is set in stone atm. I am located in Muskegon.
