Hi my name is Monica! I created RISE Yoga to educate and inspire others to "Be an expert on their own life" Rise stands for Resilience, Integrity, Self-Awareness, & Enjoyment. Yoga is Unitarian. 6000 years ago, yoga practice began as a way to connect and heal the body and the mind from pain. Yoga offers many benefits including boosting immune function, improves flexibility, builds muscle strength, improves body posture, prevents cartilage and joint break down, protects the spine, increases blood flow to vital organs, boosts immunity, increases heart rate, decreases blood pressure, regulates adrenal glands, lowers blood sugar (LDL), helps to improve focus, improves balance, helps maintain a healthy nervous system, releases tension in your limbs, help improve REM sleep, increases lung capacity to breath, decreases anxiety, prevents digestive problems, gives you peace of mind, increases self-esteem and inner strength, supports connective tissue, breaks down fascia, and teaches us commitment and discipline. RISE Flow Running / Walking is a special combination of both yoga and lateral movement walking and running. We meet Saturdays on the track. RISE Flow running is designed to increase speed as a runner or increase walking which ever your desired goal is.
