Motorcyclist Dies After Losing Control, Getting Thrown Into Pond

TAMPA, FL — A 32-year-old Valrico man was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle along the U.S. 301 ramp to Interstate 4 and was thrown into a retention pond. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 1:44 p.m. Friday, the motorcyclist was traveling south on U.S. 301 along the ramp leading to westbound I-4 when he lost control. The motorcycle left the road and the rider was thrown into a nearby retention pond. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
