Programs include: Eastland: Chicago’s Deadliest Day. Documentary producer, Harvey Moshman of Chicago presents highlights of his latest film about the capsizing of the passenger steamer Eastland in Chicago in 1915. Three years after the Titanic, this disaster claimed the lives of more than 800 passengers! Two Brothers, Two Ships, and Two Shipwrecks. Legendary shipwreck hunter David Trotter is back to tell the tale of his recent discovery of the Water Witch with an interesting twist. Expedition Unknown: The Vanished Airliner. MSRA’s Valerie vanHeest provides a behind-the-scenes look at MSRA’s appearance on the popular TV show “Expedition Unknown” with host Josh Gates. See how "reality" TV shows really happen! Bottled Goodbyes. Famed documentarian and diver Ric Mixter investigates and adds new information to famous and unknown messages found after shipping disasters. Michigan Shipwreck Research Association is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, whose mission is to preserve and promote Michigan's submerged maritime history. The organization's work includes research and documentation of submerged cultural resources and the creation of educational resources. MSRA hosts an annual public symposium, maintains a website and Facebook page, produces newsletters, documentary films, informative articles, books, and museum exhibits, and makes presentations to youth and adult organizations.   Formed in 2001 by a volunteer board of directors who oversee operations, MSRA relies on memberships, fundraising events, and grants to continue its work. For nearly 20 years, MSRA has and continues to research, discover, and document many significant Great Lakes shipwrecks.
