EAGAN, MN — Eagan police are looking for information after a statue of a police officer and a wall was vandalized with graffiti Tuesday night. Authorities say the incident happened during a protest that broke out at the Eagan Community Center ahead of an event that was to be hosted by police. "Eagan Police Department planned to have a community conversation to hear citizens' concerns surrounding policing, however we had to cancel the event due to a protest that was scheduled to occur at our event," the department said in a release. "Organizers of the protest indicated this was going to be a peaceful rally, but as you can see from the attached photos, this was far from the case." Police are asking for information on the vandalism. Photos of the vandalism can be viewed here. The Eagan Police Department did not immediately respond to Patch's request for comment.
