Press release from the Urbandale Community School District: February 18th, 2022 On February 15, Urbandale Middle School sixth grade students showcased their math prowess during the National 2022 MATHCOUNTS Competition. The students were hosted at the "chapter level" on the DMACC campus. MATHCOUNTS is a national competition celebrating rigorous problem-solving. The Competition Series has four levels of competition—school, chapter, state, and national. Each level of competition is comprised of four rounds—Sprint, Target, Team, and Countdown Round. UCSD is incredibly proud of the dedication of these talented sixth grade students: Gemma Juliano, Annabel Brostad and Cady Nelson. It takes practice, partnership, and perseverance to learn the skills necessary to compete in this national competition. Many thanks to Gemma, Annabel, and Cady for representing Urbandale Middle School, and to Ana Mamola, junior at Urbandale High School, for volunteering to coach. UCSD is grateful for the leadership of UMS Extended Learning Program Teacher Janine Choudhury. Well-done! We are #proudofU!   2022 MATHCOUNTS Competition at DMACC: Mrs. Choudhury, Gemma Juliano, Annabel Brostad, Cady Nelson, and Ana Mamola.     This press release was produced by the Urbandale Community School District.
