Description

It's been an eventful six months, both on and off the campaign trail. I hope during that time I've conveyed my vision for a more connected, inclusive, and sustainable Eagan to the voters who will be choosing two Eagan Councilmembers on November 3. If I haven't reached you yet, you can learn anything you'd want to know about me on my campaign website; more condensed versions appear on candidate profiles published by SunThisweek, the Pioneer Press, The St. Paul Area Chamber, and the League of Women Voters. Or watch my short video on ETV. I'm proud to have been endorsed by so many of your friends and neighbors, including retired Mayor/Police Chief Pat Geagan, State Rep Laurie Halverson, and Dakota County Commissioner Tom Egan. With Councilmember Meg Tilley retiring, Councilmember Gary Hansen and Mayor Mike Maguire feel strongly enough about continuing the success that they've helped cultivate that they wrote the following letter of endorsement for incumbent Councilmember Cyndee Fields and myself: Fields and Supina Are the Right ChoicesFor years, stable and experienced city council leadership has been an essential ingredient to our community’s success. Due to Councilmember Meg Tilley’s July retirement announcement, Eagan voters, for the first time in more than a decade, will fill an open seat on the city council. We wish Councilmember Tilley well and congratulate her on 20 years of appreciated service to Eagan.Today, we write to support the re-election of Councilmember Cyndee Fields and the election of Mike Supina to the Eagan City Council. Both candidates have demonstrated the long-term community commitment, experience, and understanding of Eagan that is required to continue our success.Starting as a youth sports volunteer, Councilmember Cyndee Fields has, for nearly 20 years, been an integral part of the City’s accomplishments and successes. From maintaining critical infrastructure and protecting wetlands and open space to advocating for Eagan parks and programming, Cyndee understands the issues and works with residents toward solutions that are best for Eagan. While Mike Supina would be new to the City Council, his commitment and service to Eagan is not. Mike has served on both the Dakota County and Eagan Advisory Planning Commissions, the Dakota County Public Art Citizens Advisory Commission, and Eagan’s Energy and Environment Advisory Commission. In addition, he has volunteered throughout our community as a leader in Rotary and with organizations like The Open Door, Art Works Eagan, and the Eagan Foundation.Mike has demonstrated his commitment to our community inside and outside of city hall. His experienced creativity, innovativeness, and fresh ideas will serve the City Council and Eagan well.Cyndee Fields and Mike Supina understand our community, how it’s changed over time, and what is needed to keep Eagan moving forward. They bring diverse and broad experience to the City Council, know the job, and can be relied on to show up and do the work as they always have.Cyndee Fields and Mike Supina are the right choices for Eagan. We hope you agree and we encourage you to join us in voting for them for the Eagan City Council.Mayor Mike MaguireCouncilmember Gary Hansen I hope that over these past six months I've earned your confidence and your vote; together we can build an even more livable, more lovable Eagan. For this and other blog posts visit my website, or feel free to contact me by phone at 651-706-0061 or email me at [email protected].
