Sunday when you are in church listening to the latest sermon, ask yourself this. If Jesus were alive on earth preaching today, what do you think he would be saying? How does this fit with what your current church is telling you and instructing you. Be cautious, just because a human reads a verse from the bible and draws his conclusion make sure that it passes the smell test. Do you notice a disparity between what you are being told and what you know in your heart Jesus would be telling you? If yes, maybe it is time to find a new place of worship. A church should not be a vehicle for hate. A church should not be a vehicle for prejudice. A church should not be a vehicle for greed. One by one, people need to make the right decisions. You need to take responsibility for your decisions and the consequences of them. Doing nothing, when you know you should be doing something, is a decision, but unfortunately, it is the wrong decision. Make no mistake, this is intended to be a political post. There are many religious groups who are advocating certain political stances that I do not believe are those that would be sanctioned by Jesus, despite the fact that some religious leaders would have you believe otherwise. The truth will set you free.
